All Browsers not displaying barcode images with the ASP Server Component for IIS
This issue may occur when displaying PNG barcode images instead of JPEG barcode images. Some older web browsers, such as those provided with the standard Windows NT installation, do not support PNG image formats. To avoid this problem, switch from PNG images to JPEG instead.
Another situation where this problem may occur is when users are logged into an NT domain with different security rights. IDAutomation has addressed the rights issue here.
Additionally, this product has been updated to solve security vulnerabilities. The latest version of the ASP Barcode Server Component for IIS must be installed to solve the issue.
It is VERY important that the following is completed in order, for the update to work:
- REBOOT the server, ensuring that no barcode has been created on the server. It is suggested to disconnect the network cable if possible to guarantee this. If a barcode is created with IIS, the files will be locked and will not be replaced by the install utility.
- REMOVE the old barcode server package by going to Control Panel – Add/Remove.
- Download and install the current version, the Priority Support & Upgrade Subscription may have to be re-activated.
- Follow the new implementation procedures.
