Demo version of ActiveX Controls & Crystal UFLs do not display on Win 2003 Server
Windows Server 2003
- IDAutomation PDF417 Barcode Font Encoder and Crystal UFL (Evaluation version only)
- IDAutomation Data Matrix Barcode Font Encoder and Crystal UFL (Evaluation version only)
Applications using the products mentioned above may terminate unexpectedly, return no data, or cause a general protection fault error in Crystal Reports.
The above products generate a Message Box stating it is an evaluation version of the IDAutomation product. If Microsoft Messenger (please note, this is not MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger) is not running, the messages will be suppressed causing the applications to terminate unexpectedly.
Make sure that the Messenger Service is running. The Services can be accessed by RIGHT clicking on the My Computer Icon and selecting Manage. Under Computer Management click on the Services tab and locate the Messenger Service, right click on the Service and select START. (NOTE: Once the server is re-booted, the Messenger Service will be disabled again or to manually disable the Messenger Service, follow the instructions above and select STOP.)
NOTE: IDAutomation now offers Crystal Font Formulas in the latest release of all font packages, which embed directly into the report. The formulas solve UFL related issues because the UFL is not required when they are used.
